Going Green

The Lansing Marathon is completely committed to providing an ecologically sustainable event for the city of Lansing and the state of Michigan.

The Lansing Marathon will serve locally sourced food before and after the race.

Any extra food will be donated to the Lansing Food Bank.

Throughout the race route, spectators and participants will be asked to separate any waste between recycling, compost and trash receptacles.

Volunteers will be on hand to help with this and after the event is over, we'll let you know how much waste we were able to divert from the landfill.

Spectators, volunteers and participants are encouraged to utilize public transportation, walk or ride bicycles to cheer on participants along the route.

We strongly encourage those who do drive to share rides with family and friends.
